This makes a great steak dipping sauce or drizzle over your cooked steak. Increase ratio of ingredients as needed depending upon number of steaks and diners. You can experiment with other ingredients to preferred taste.
1/2Small white onion. Sliced into rounds. 1Whole head of garlic. Slice in half horizontally. 3Anaheim green chiles. Or Hatch hot ones if brave. 1/4 Cup of Worcestershire sauce 1/4 Cup of red wine vinegar 1 Tablespoon of dried Oregano Salt and ground black pepper to taste Few sprigs of cilantro
Roasted Green Chili Steak Sauce
Drizzle garlic halves, onion slices, and green chiles with vegetable or olive oil. Salt and pepper to taste. Turn to thoroughly coat. TIME TO ROAST. This can be done on your grill or broiled in the oven. Turn often until items are golden brown (slightly scorched). Items may not reach golden at the same time. Remove ones that are ready until all items are properly roasted.
Remove from oven and let cool slightly. Pop garlic cloves out of their skins. Remove stem and seeds from the green chiles. Place all roasted items in a blender along with all remaining ingredients. Blend until smooth. Strain at your option.
